You've taken the product far. You've invented the product. Maybe you have a prototype. Maybe you have a patent. Maybe you've made some sales. But you're looking for more.
We take your product to the next step. National -- and perhaps international -- distribution. High volume. High sales. High quality.
A patent gives the patent holder the exclusive right to manufacture or sell the patented product. If the patent holder does not sell the product, no one else (legally) can. Yet oftentimes, the patent holder is not the ideal manufacturer or seller of the patented product. Licensing allows the inventor to have another company -- the licensee -- manufacture and distribute the product to consumers, in exchange for a lump-sum payment or a percentage of gross sales as royalties.
If World Innova is interested in your product submission, either sent via e-mail or discovered by one of our product scouts, we will investigate the market to determine if your product is a new innovation that meets consumers' needs or desires. If your product survives our rigorous preliminary examination, we extend a formal offer of licensing and begin all necessary product development and product launch.
To help you decide whether World Innova is right for you, please review our frequently asked questions:
- How do I submit my product idea to World Innova?
E-mail your product idea to World Innova using our form. Please be sure to include all information that will help us assess your product.
- Will World Innova sign a confidentiality agreement before reviewing my product submission?
Yes. Download our Confidentiality Agreement for your records.
We also recommend that you maintain a conventional, witnessed, permanently bound, and page-numbered laboratory notebook or notarized records as evidence of conception of an invention.
- How much does World Innova charge for its services?
We do not charge any fees for our licensing services. Instead, we ask you to assign your patent rights to us, and we agree to pay you a percentage of gross sales as royalties. The size of royalties you obtain depends upon the type of product and the business risk we assume in investing in the product's development. Also, if we are unable to secure sales after an agreed-upon period of time, we will re-assign all patent rights back to you.
- How can I be sure you will not "sit" on my invention without pursuing licensing arrangements?
If we agree to invest in your product and we are unable to secure sales, we give you the right to cancel our relationship after an agreed-upon period of time, the length depending on your product and its current stage of development.
